Music I've listened to or will be listening to soon:
My old friend Rafter sent me a care package of yummy San Diego CDs that his truly made, including but not limited to:
Wack Ass Bitch, Detritus Tostada
Wack Ass Bitch, Death Style
Bunky, Born to be a Motorcycle (lovely: goofy and sad at the same time)
Rafter's 10 (ten songs)
My dear father gave me these as a belated birthday present:
Telemann, String Concertos (Musica Antiqua Koln/Reinhard Goebel) (had
this one on the deck earlier today but wasn't paying attention--what I
caught sounds interesting.)
Shostakovich, The String Quartets (Fitzwilliam String Quartet) (OK,
this is one serious listening project: 6 discs. I like what limited
Shostakovich I've heard, and I like the idea of Shostokovich, so hopefully I'll enjoy these)
My urbane acquaintance M. Weidenbaum of disquiet.com commissioned these 12 contemporary revisitations of Brian Eno and David Byrne's My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (1981); they are here:

(I had two nice strong mugs of coffee with honey and cream this morning
and then sat down to write with this compilation as my soundtrack.
Perfect! Maybe, this time, I will make my deadline...)
